🌟 Addressing Sexual Health with Compassion and Clarity 🌟

At PleasureHunt, we believe in creating a space that is inclusive, safe, and empowering for everyone. We understand that living with herpes or any other STI can be challenging, and we want to emphasize that your sexual health status DOES NOT exclude you from being a part of our community or attending PleasureHunt Festival.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Everyone is Welcome: Whether you’re living with herpes, another STI, or you are free from infection, you are welcome at PleasureHunt. Your value as a person is not defined by your sexual health status, and we are committed to fostering a culture of acceptance and understanding.

2. Get Tested, Stay Informed: We encourage everyone to get tested before attending the festival. Knowing your sexual health status is an important step in caring for yourself and others. Communication is key, and we want all participants to feel empowered to share their status honestly with others.

3. Informed Consent is Essential: PleasureHunt Festival is all about embracing pleasure with respect and transparency. By getting tested and knowing your status, you contribute to a culture of informed consent, ensuring that everyone can engage in safe and consensual experiences.

Let’s make PleasureHunt a celebration of sexual health. Together, we can create a space where everyone feels valued and respected, no matter where they are on their sexual health journey.

FAQS

How “accessible” is this event?

Description of the grounds : Gravel driveways, dirt paths, some ruts and exposed roots on pathways, slatted wooden footbridges, small hills, long grasses in some areas, with lots of open green spaces and ample trees and forest coverage. Bathrooms are single-person outdoor outhouses with a step into them.  Play spaces have 3 stairs onto the tent platforms as well have as temporary ramp access. A multi-person golf cart will be available this year to help transport folks between spaces for those who have mobility limitations.

We recognize that navigating the event grounds may be challenging for those who use wheelchairs or walkers or who experience physical limitations.

However, we are committed to offering supportive options for navigating the space wherever possible. If you have specific mobility or accessibility needs, please contact Brittany directly so we can discuss them in detail and ensure resources are secured well in advance to support you.

Our registration form includes the question:   "Are there any restrictions or limitations (mobility, hearing, eyesight, language) we should be aware of to better support you?"   This allows us to focus on creating a safe and comfortable experience tailored to the unique needs of those attending. While we aim to prioritize mobility support, physical comfort, and appropriate sound levels, we acknowledge that we may not have the capacity to address all accessibility needs.

For those who are visually or hearing impaired:   At this time, our resources for providing accommodations are limited to equipment like speakers or personal sound amplifiers. We hope to expand our capacity to better serve these needs in the future.   Your experience matters to us, and we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.

If you have any questions or concerns about accessibility, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Is the event geared towards solos or couples?

PleasureHunt is a celebration of humanity in all its diverse forms and relational orientations. Whether you arrive alone, with a partner, or as part of a polycule, this event is for everyone—single, married, monogamous, non-monogamous, monogamish, polyamorous, or anything else that resonates with your unique journey.

Our carefully curated workshops and experiences are designed to honor the full spectrum of human connection, intimacy, and self-discovery. At its core, PleasureHunt invites each attendee to turn inward and center their own desires, curiosities, and pleasure—whether they came with companions or ventured here solo.

This is a space where you can fully immerse yourself in exploration, free of judgment and rich in possibility, no matter how you identify or who you’re connected to. PleasureHunt welcomes you as you are, in all your complexity and beauty.

Will there be Photography? What if I don’t want my picture taken?

Yes, there will be photographers present at PleasureHunt, as we believe in the power of capturing the beauty and vibrancy of this experience. Part of our mission is to help de-shame sexuality and break down the stigmas surrounding it, bringing these conversations and expressions out of the shadows and into the light.

That said, we deeply value and respect the wishes of anyone who does not want to be photographed. During the opening circle, we will address community agreements around photography and create a clear system for identifying those who prefer not to be included in photos. This ensures everyone’s boundaries are honored, so you can feel safe and fully immersed in the experience.

Your comfort and agency are of utmost importance to us. If you have specific concerns about photography, you’re welcome to reach out before the event, and we’ll be happy to discuss them further.

I want to attend, but I’m hesitant if ‘(insert name)’ will be there. Can you tell me who’s attending so I can decide whether or not to come?

Privacy First:   We deeply value the privacy of all our attendees and therefore do not share the names of those who have purchased tickets. The only way to see who has publicly confirmed their attendance is through the Facebook event page, where some may choose to mark themselves as “Attending.” Please note that this is not a complete or definitive list.

Navigating Concerns Around Safety:   If you’re feeling uncertain about attending because you may not feel comfortable or safe sharing such an intimate and vulnerable space with a particular person, please know you’re not alone. This is a valid and common concern that Brittany approaches with great care and sensitivity. PleasureHunt is designed to be a safe container for exploration, healing, and connection in the realm of sexuality. True transformation can only occur in an environment rooted in safety.

To help us create this safe container, our registration form includes the following question:   "Are there any individuals whose presence at this event would make you feel uncomfortable or unsafe to attend?"   If you answer yes, Brittany will personally follow up with you to gather more information and ensure everyone at the event feels respected and supported.

Please know that each situation is unique and may require tailored approaches to navigate. Your well-being is our priority, and we are here to ensure your experience at PleasureHunt is as safe and nourishing as possible.
